Privacy Policy

Effective 15 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tapricot (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with our mobile apps and the website at tapricot.app. It applies to all Tapricot apps, including Checkout Coach, with app-specific details listed near the end.

Who we are

Our approach

We're a small indie studio and we keep data collection to the absolute minimum. Our apps are offline-first and single-player: they work without an account or an internet connection, and your progress, stats and settings are stored locally on your device. We operate no servers, no accounts and no first-party analytics, and we do not collect personal data about you ourselves. The one exception is advertising in our free apps, which is provided by Google AdMob and described below.

What data is collected, by whom, and why

By us — none

We do not collect, store or have access to personal data about you. Game data never leaves your device. We have no analytics or tracking SDK of our own in our apps. The only time we receive anything is if you email us — then we hold your email address and message for as long as needed to help you.

By Google AdMob — to show and measure ads

Our free apps display ads using Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob is operated by Google and, as an independent controller for advertising, may collect and process:

  • your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android);
  • your IP address;
  • coarse device information (device type, OS version, language, general region);
  • ad-interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed or tapped).

Google uses this to serve ads (personalized or non-personalized, depending on your choice), measure their performance, and prevent fraud and abuse. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. See also the AdMob data disclosures.

If you buy the one-time remove-ads purchase, ads are switched off and the AdMob SDK no longer collects this data in that app.

In-app purchases

The one-time “remove ads” purchase (remove_ads, a non-consumable product) is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock the feature and let you restore it on another device, but we never see your full payment details.

On our website

The website at tapricot.app relies on Cloudflare's built-in, privacy-first traffic analytics, which runs at the server/edge — there is no analytics script in your browser. It gives us only aggregate, anonymous figures (such as page views and rough regions), sets no tracking cookies, does not fingerprint you and does not track you across sites — which is why the site shows no cookie-consent banner. We run no advertising or third-party tracking scripts on the website.

Legal bases (EEA / UK GDPR)

If you're in the EEA or UK, we and Google rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for personalized ads. We ask for this through Google's consent prompt (see below); you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — for non-personalized ads, basic ad measurement, and protecting against fraud and abuse, balanced against your rights.
  • Performance of a contract — to provide the app you chose to use and to deliver your remove-ads purchase.

Your choices & consent

  • Consent prompt. In the EEA and UK, the first time you open a free app you'll see a consent message powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), letting you accept or decline personalized ads. You can change your choice later from the app's privacy/consent option in Settings.
  • iOS App Tracking Transparency. On iOS we ask for tracking permission via Apple's ATT prompt. If you decline, you'll receive non-personalized ads. You can change this under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Device controls. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
  • Remove ads. Buying the one-time remove-ads purchase stops ads and the associated data collection entirely.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the providers needed to run our apps and site:

  • Google (Google AdMob) — to serve and measure ads, per Google's advertising policies.
  • Apple and Google — for app distribution and in-app purchases.
  • Cloudflare — for website hosting, cookieless analytics and email routing.

International transfers

Google and our other providers may process data in countries outside the EEA, UK or your home country, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data retention

Game data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app. We don't retain it because we never receive it. Google retains advertising data per its own policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and keep a basic record.

Your rights (EEA / UK)

If you're in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no personal data about you, most requests about advertising data are best directed to Google; we'll help you and act on anything within our control — just email .

You can also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In Norway this is the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

Your US privacy rights (California & other states)

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar US state laws, allowing third-party personalized advertising is treated as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising / targeted advertising. In the past 12 months the categories of personal information involved in that sharing are:

  • Identifiers — advertising identifier, IP address;
  • Internet / network activity — ad interactions;
  • Inferences — ad-interest categories Google may derive to personalize ads.

We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of anyone under 16.

To opt out of this sharing / “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”:

  • decline personalized ads in the in-app privacy prompt (US-states message powered by Google UMP), available again any time from the app's Settings; or
  • buy the one-time remove-ads purchase, which stops ad-related data collection entirely; or
  • limit ad tracking using your device's advertising controls.

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states with similar laws also have rights to access, delete and correct their personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising; exercise any of these by emailing . We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

Our apps are general-audience and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and our apps are not configured as “child-directed” for advertising purposes. If you believe a child has provided personal data through one of our apps, contact us and we'll delete what we can and help you address it with Google.
